• Product FeaturesRugged and durable two-stage compression module
Ingersoll Rand compressor air ends are renowned worldwide for zero downtime and minimal maintenance costs. The Nirvana™ series employs a two-stage compression air end. Dual-screw compression reduces thermal load on each stage, while the second-stage rotors utilize stainless steel to resist moisture corrosion. The rotor surfaces are mechanically sprayed with Ingersoll Rand's patented UltraCoat™ coating, ensuring excellent sealing between rotors and guaranteeing sustained air delivery without volume decay.
• Unique UltraCoat™ UltraCoatIngersoll Rand's unique UltraCoat™ super coating utilizes a molybdenum disulfide matrix compound, offering high hardness and exceptional adhesion while providing outstanding oxidation resistance. The rotor coating is applied via robotic spraying, ensuring uniform coverage across the rotor surface. Prior to coating, the screw rotor undergoes specialized shot peening to enhance surface roughness, facilitating superior coating adhesion.
The exceptional performance of the UltraCoat™ coating enables users to achieve sustained air delivery without volume decay over extended compressor operation. Most manufacturers use softer Teflon coatings applied non-uniformly without robotic spraying. During continuous operation, these coatings gradually peel off due to thermal expansion/contraction and moisture corrosion, leading to increased rotor clearance and reduced airtightness. This typically causes an 8%-10% air volume decay, increasing overall unit operating costs.
Taking a 200kW unit operating for 8,000 hours as an example, an 8% air volume reduction translates to:
8% × 200 kW × 0.7 RMB/kW·hr × 8,000 hrs = 89,600 RMB in additional electricity consumption losses.
• Superior sealing design ensures oil-free compressed air chambers
The unit employs a unique triple-seal design, completely isolating the lubricated bearing oil circuit from the air circuit to guarantee oil-free compressed air.
- SS Air Seal – Prevents air ingress into oil circuits (bearing housings / gears)
- Labyrinth Seal – Prevents oil ingress into the AIR END
- Oil Drain Seal – If leakage occurs in the above seals, the oil drain seal vents oil to the atmosphere
• Integrated Variable Frequency Drive
Advantages: The advanced drive system enables Nirvana to deliver intelligent control, soft starts, elimination of current surges, and extended component lifespan, significantly enhancing system reliability. Nirvana is the unit that integrates all these capabilities.
• Optimal Flow at Any Pressure Point
Advantage: Nirvana oil-free variable-speed screw compressors utilize the XE Intellisys™ controller to optimize host speed regulation. The compressor precisely adjusts air volume (with a maximum adjustment range of 50%) according to different pressure setpoints, while pressure regulation spans 65-150 psig (4.5-10.3 barg). Therefore, the Nirvana oil-free variable speed screw air compressor is not restricted to operating at a single pressure. It provides customers with maximum flexibility for their air consumption needs.
• Stable Pressure Control
Advantage: Nirvana leverages the integration of cutting-edge technologies (Intellisys™ controller/sensors/inverter/hybrid permanent magnet motor) to ensure target pressure fluctuations remain within 0.1 barg. Because Nirvana maintains stable pressure under any air consumption conditions, it prevents system overpressure, thereby saving energy. It is well known that every 2 psig increase in system pressure requires a 1% increase in system energy consumption (every 1 barg increase requires a 7% increase).
• Hybrid Permanent Magnet Motor
Advantages: A key feature of hybrid permanent magnet motors is their removable stator windings, enabling on-site replacement. Additionally, their compact size and high power output (occupying only 33% of the volume of traditional variable frequency motors while delivering three times the magnetic flux) allows direct connection to and drive of the host's rotor. Finally, their unique design eliminates wear components and motor bearings.
• Unlimited Start/Stop Cycles
Advantages: Hybrid permanent magnet motors can withstand unlimited start/stop cycles to meet air demand without damaging the motor, unlike conventional motors. Nirvana shuts down when unit air consumption drops to its lowest point, eliminating the energy waste caused by unloading in traditional air compressors.
• Increased Motor Air Gap
Advantage: The enlarged motor air gap enables HPM motors to operate reliably at ambient temperatures up to 115ºF (46ºC), eliminating shutdown issues. Furthermore, HPM standard motors feature a service factor of 1.25 (1.21 for 132kW and 160kW models), significantly extending motor lifespan.• AIR END Super Coating Process
Advantages: This patented process involves a robotic arm applying an organic high-temperature resin embedded with PTFE MoS2 molecules onto rotor surfaces that have undergone special surface treatment (phosphating). The coating is then heat-treated. This process firmly embeds the coating within the rough metal surface, making it extremely resistant to peeling. The Super Coating prevents particle abrasion and thermal corrosion, ensuring sustained high performance over extended periods. It also extends the service life of the host rotor, significantly reducing lifecycle operating costs.
• Triple-Tube Parallel Aftercooler
Advantages: The air-cooled aftercooler utilizes three parallel pipes to pre-cool compressed air before entering the aftercooler. The compressed air is evenly divided into three sections entering three aftercooler modules. This design not only reduces pressure loss but also prevents thermal stress damage to the cooler. Consequently, the cooling system significantly lowers operating costs through its thermal energy savings and minimal maintenance requirements.
Air Intake Filter
• Tank-Type Air Intake Filter
Advantages: Nirvana employs a two-stage air intake filter system with 99.99% filtration efficiency and 3-micron precision. The tank-type air intake filter is suitable for all industrial environments. Additional filtration options are available for customers requiring higher precision.
• Cooling System, Centrifugal Fan (Fan)
Advantages: Nirvana employs centrifugal fans for unit cooling. Centrifugal fans deliver exceptional cooling performance, efficiently transferring heat away from the unit. Additionally, centrifugal fans can withstand a maximum back pressure of 1/2" (124.5 Pa).
• Ntegrated Centrifugal Fan Variable Frequency Drive
Advantages: The cooling system intelligently adjusts centrifugal fan speed by comparing three values: secondary inlet air temperature, unit discharge air temperature, and ambient temperature. Regulating centrifugal fan speed offers several key benefits: a. Extends main bearing life by providing stable lubrication, b. Significantly increases energy efficiency through enhanced cooling of the intermediate and aftercoolers, c. Reduces unit operating noise during partial load conditions. (For example, at an ambient temperature of 85ºF (29ºC), discharge temperature of 100ºF (38ºC), and 70% load operation, noise levels drop to 74dBA).
• Suitable for 100% continuous load operation
Advantages: A robust and reliable host unit, hybrid permanent magnet motor, and integrated variable frequency controller ensure Nirvana can operate at full load 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• Easy Maintenance
Advantages: All wear parts in Nirvana are conveniently located within easy reach for effortless maintenance. Nirvana also provides proactive support during operation—its intelligent controller estimates maintenance intervals based on usage patterns.
